Amazing ‘Action Office’ Tambour Desk by George Nelson and Robert Propst for Herman Miller
A extremely rare design classic designed by George Nelson.
‘George Nelson was an American industrial designer. While lead designer for the Herman Miller furniture company, Nelson and his design studio, George Nelson Associates, designed 20th-century modernist furniture. He is considered a founder of American modernist design.’
This desk is the smaller version of the ‘Action Office’ series.
The desk has a beautiful solid walnut sliding tambour top, that reveals a white laminate writing surface.
The design has two hidden drawers, which can be used to store writing equipment.
The desk rests on a large cast aluminum base, painted in an original grey colour.
This design treasure has been restored by FIN and therefore is in overall magnificent condition.
It’s a true timeless iconic space age design.
We truly fall short of words if we really want to describe the emotions this desk gives us.
As icing on the cake the ‘Action Office’ series was used in the movie ‘A Space Odyssey 2001‘, the epic science fiction film from 1968, produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Returns
The customer may notify the seller that he renounces his purchase, without payment of a penalty and without giving a reason, within a period of 14 days counting from the day following the day of delivery of the product. This regulation is only valid within the European Union. From this notification, the customer has 10 days to return the product to the seller.
If these deadlines are not met, the customer is deemed to have definitively waived his right of withdrawal. The buyer assumes responsibility for payment of all shipments and any damage the item may incur during such time regardless of the reason for return.
The return to the seller is at the buyer’s expense and will be made to the following address: FIN – Funky Interior – Waversebaan 164 – 3001 Heverlee – Belgium.
Upon lawful exercise by the customer of his right of withdrawal and if the products are still in impeccable condition in their original packaging, the seller will refund the price paid by the customer – excluding delivery costs – to the customer within 30 days of the initial payment.
